As a Core Investor and Assistant Financial Analyst for Vision and Legacy Capital Group LLC, Lakisha brings analytical excellence, strategic planning skills, and a strong commitment to the firm’s mission of revitalizing communities and building generational wealth.

Born in Chicago and raised in Mississippi, Lakisha returned to the South Suburbs to pursue her passion for empowering others through education, leadership, and community development. For over 25 years, she has made an indelible mark in the field of education, serving in roles that include teacher, director, dean, professor, and mentor. Her leadership experience spans instruction, curriculum planning, student advocacy, and human rights, reflecting her lifelong commitment to excellence and equity.

Lakisha earned her bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and a master’s degree in educational leadership and Curriculum and Instruction from Chicago State University. She is currently ABD towards her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration, with aspirations to serve as a superintendent and further advance educational equity and transformative leadership in schools.

Her impressive career includes serving as Director of Preschool at various high schools, where she facilitated curriculum design and educator training to enhance early childhood learning outcomes. As Dean of Students, Lakisha was a steadfast advocate for students and staff, serving as a union representative and on multiple leadership committees including the Executive and Negotiations Committee, Security Task Force, and Professional Development Committee. She is recognized for mentoring and supporting new teachers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and empowerment.

Lakisha’s passion for teaching extended into higher education as an adjunct professor with Prairie State College’s CTE program, offering dual credit courses to high school students to build college readiness and career pathways.

A lifelong learner herself, Lakisha has earned her HR-SHRM and DEI certificates through Northwestern University, equipping her to lead inclusively and champion diversity in every space she serves. Her interest in economic growth and community development led her to complete the MLO Real Estate course (NMLS# 2349873), expanding her expertise into the financial and real estate sectors to further her mission of building strong, empowered communities.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Lakisha serves as the Vice President of the Echelon Condominium Association, where she leads strategic planning, financial oversight, and governance to ensure the community thrives.
