Kevin’s journey in the skilled trades began after earning his associate’s degree in construction sciences from Richard J. Daley College. In 2001, he joined I.B.E.W. Local 134, launching a career that would span some of the most iconic infrastructure projects in Chicago. Throughout his career as an electrician, Kevin has worked on notable landmarks such as the United Center, Soldier Field, Wrigley Field, Willis Tower, and countless other major sites across Cook County, contributing his expertise to the construction and maintenance of critical city infrastructure.

His passion for the trades extends beyond his own worksite contributions. For the past seven years, Kevin has served as an instructor at the IBEW NECA Technical Institute, where he teaches electrical and construction sciences to the next generation of trades professionals. In this role, he combines technical expertise with mentorship, empowering students with skills that offer lifelong career stability, financial independence, and dignity.

In January 2025, Kevin was honored with the CISCO Educator of the Year Award, recognizing his exceptional commitment to vocational education and workforce development. His dedication also extends to programs such as the Chicago Hope Academy’s trades career pathway, where he actively engages students in understanding the value of having a trade is a direct route to meaningful and sustainable employment.
